Contractor Compliance

Obtaining a copy of your contractor's license and workman's compensation policy is not enough due dilligence in the eyes of the government. You should do the following:

Visit the contractor:
Make sure that there are no children present
Make sure that the time cards are properly filled out
Check the contractor validity on the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement website.
Make sure that the quantity of product received from the contractor is reasonable in comparison to the labor available (ie, two people with needles and thread cannot sew a thousand shirts per day).
An alternative is to hire a company to do your contractor compliance.
